Privacy Policy
Mantar · expense tracker for Android · Last updated 4 July 2026
Overview
Mantar helps couples and households track shared expenses — including partners, family members, and guests. Users aged 13 and older may create an account and use the app. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Mantar, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Budget data you enter — accounts, transactions, categories, goals, budgets, and household people. This is stored on your device. If you turn on cloud sync, it is also stored in our database so you can access it across devices.
- Account information — if you sign in (for example with Google), we receive your email address and basic profile details from your sign-in provider to identify your account.
- Household people — partners, family members, and guests you add (including children tracked as family members). They appear in transactions and sharing settings. A household member does not need their own Mantar account unless they choose to sign in separately.
- Partner and sharing data — when you link with a partner or share a person ledger, related budget data may be visible to them or to anyone with a public ledger link you create.
- Backups you create — if you export a backup, the file is saved to a folder you choose on your device or cloud storage; we do not receive those files unless you share them elsewhere.
- Usage and diagnostics — we use Firebase (Google) for anonymous analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring. This may include device type, app version, and how you use screens and features, not the contents of your transactions.
How we use information
- Provide and sync your budget data when you use cloud features
- Enable partner sharing and public ledger links you choose to create
- Improve stability, performance, and the app experience
- Respond to support requests and legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
Where data is stored
Local data stays on your device until you reset the app, uninstall, or overwrite it with a restore. Cloud data is hosted by Supabase. Analytics and crash data are processed by Google Firebase. Public ledger pages are served from our website (Vercel).
Third-party services
Mantar relies on:
- Google — sign-in and Firebase analytics, crash reporting, performance
- Supabase — authentication and cloud database when sync is enabled
- Vercel — hosting for public ledger and account pages on this site
Each provider has its own privacy policy. We only share what is needed to run those services.
Your choices
- Use Mantar without signing in — data stays local on that device
- Settings → Reset data — erase local and cloud budget data while keeping your sign-in
- Delete your account — remove your sign-in and cloud data
- Revoke partner links and public ledger links in the app
- Uninstall the app to remove local data from that device
Retention
We keep cloud budget data while your account exists. After account deletion, cloud data is removed from our systems. Analytics and crash reports already sent to Firebase may be retained by Google under their policies. Data on a partner’s device may remain until they sync or remove it.
Age and families
Mantar is intended for users 13 years and older. Teens may use the app on their own device with their own account, or take part in a household managed by a parent or guardian.
A household owner may add family members (including children) to track shared spending and allowances. Those members are stored as names and budget entries in the household; they do not receive a separate account unless they install Mantar and sign in themselves at 13 or older.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Google Play does not offer Mantar to users under 13 based on our app content rating. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us (see Contact below) and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Mantar after changes means you accept the updated policy.
